The ADC659/PACT Agreement is a collective agreement outlining standard terms and conditions bargained between the Associated Designers of Canada and the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres. The Agreement provides agreed-upon terms for PACT member companies engaging ADC659 designers. It clearly sets out the parameters for royalties; provides details of the production schedule and budget; makes provision for a residency, accommodation, and travel expenses; clearly states the responsibilities of both the designer and producer; and upholds the designers’ intellectual property rights. Each design discipline includes a separate Schedule to outline the necessary details regarding budget, crew, and gear.
The ADC/PACT Agreement must be used by all Regular, Commercial, and Associate members of PACT when engaging ADC659 designers.
Please note that productions opening after July 1, 2023 are subject to the newly-ratified agreement. Please check the top of the contract to ensure it applies to the opening date of your contract.
At PACT’s request, member companies are asked to request copies of the ADC659/PACT Agreement and contract template directly from the PACT office.
Production Registration Forms
We have recently launched a Production Registration initiative, in cooperation with PACT. The goal is to improve the timeliness of contract submission and payment, and mitigate errors made filling out contract templates, by ensuring ADC659 has advance notice of productions, along with the anticipated design positions. Please download the Production Registration Form.
Contracting Checklists
In collaboration with PACT, we have prepared a checklist of items that must or should be addressed when you are negotiating with a PACT-member company. All the items listed here are included in the collective agreement, and the Theatre is required to provide you with this information at the time of contracting. Furthermore, items which should be negotiated at the time of contracting (per the collective agreement) are included. Please download the Contracting Checklist.
ADC659 Logos
The ADC659/PACT collective agreement requires the use and recognition of ADC659 in house programs and other places where union/association logos are included.
A set of high resolution logos in bitmap and vector formats is available for download.
